Caring for your Carpet.

Cleaning & Maintenance

Follow these guidelines of efficient cleanliness and you’ll feel the high quality of your purchase last and last for years to come.

  • A wool carpet can only rid itself of dirt stains through regular vacuuming. Suction-only vacuuming is best recommended – as opposed to brush vacuuming – to reduce wear and tear of carpet fibres.
  • You may need to have your carpet cleaned professionally. Avoid stain-repellent products containing silicone, as they can worsen carpet soiling.
  • Place absorbent door mats at the entrances most frequently used in your home.

Removal of spillages

  • Immediately dab any spills with a white paper towel or a clean absorbent cloth. DO NOT RUB. Carefully remove up any messy solids without smearing.
  • Test the cleaning agent on an inconspicuous area first in a light dabbing motion using the absorbent cloth. Then apply the same technique to the spillage. (Remember to flip the cloth over to avoid spreading soil quantities.)
  • Work the cloth from the edge of the spillage inwards to prevent further spreading. (Avoid any heavy water saturation.)
  • Wait a few minutes for the cleaning agent to absorb, according to the products directions.
  • When the marked area has faded, reapply pressure with a paper towel or dry absorbent cloth to soak up moisture residue.

For Polypropylene:

To remove surface soil, lay the rug out on a clean flat surface where dry foaming methods can be used. Wet shampooing is recommended for removal of heavy surface soil. Though steam cleaning can also be used for most stain removals.

For Jute:

This is a dry clean only material. Wet cleaning (or hot water extraction) can cause shrinkage and discoloration.
